Features

🔨

Whack-a-Mole, Emoji Style

Emojis pop out of random holes and duck back down fast — tap or click each one before it disappears to rack up points, one satisfying whack at a time.

📱

Fills Any Screen, Instantly

The hole grid resizes itself to fit your device — fewer holes on a phone, more on a big monitor, always edge-to-edge with no setup.

🌟

Gold Emojis, Sneaky Bombs

Catch a golden emoji for a fat bonus, but a stray 💣 costs you points and snaps your combo — so every tap is a split-second judgment call.

🔥

Combos That Celebrate You

String together hits without missing and watch your combo climb — hit real milestones and the screen erupts with cheering emoji and encouragement.

🏆

Race the World Leaderboard

When the clock hits zero, drop a nickname and post your score to compete with players everywhere — your own run is highlighted so you can find it instantly.

🔒

100% In-Browser

Bouncy animations, real hit sounds and vibration feedback all run locally — no installs, no accounts, completely free.

1

Tap Start Game

2

Whack every emoji you see

Touch or click each emoji the instant it pops up. Gold ones are worth extra — bombs are the only thing you want to miss.

3

Land hits back-to-back without touching a bomb and your combo multiplier climbs — big streaks trigger their own little celebration on screen.

4

See your rating, then submit

When time's up you get a fun emoji rating based on your score. Enter a nickname and send your run to the global leaderboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Whack an Emoji free?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up, no download and nothing interrupting the round. Every match is a single 60-second sprint, so you can jump in, play and be done in about a minute. Tapping Start Game is the only step between opening the page and your first whack.
How do I score points?
Tap or click each emoji before it retreats — a normal hit is worth 1 point, a golden emoji is worth 5, and every hit also adds a combo bonus equal to your current streak divided by 5 and rounded down. Emojis pop up faster as the round goes on: the spawn gap shrinks from about 820 milliseconds near the start down to roughly 360 milliseconds by the end of the 60 seconds. That ramping pace, not just the point values, is what makes late-round streaks so much harder to hold onto.
What happens if I hit a bomb?
Bombs aren't a point penalty here — it's a one-life rule, so whacking a single 💣 ends the round immediately. The screen flashes red, shakes, and supported devices get a distinct long vibration pattern, then input locks and your final score is tagged as a bomb-out instead of a normal time-up finish. There's no recovering after a bomb hit, so treat every 💣 as an instant game-ender, not a scoring mole.
Does it work well on mobile?
Yes. Touch targets are large, the hole grid automatically resizes to fill any screen — fewer holes on a phone, more on a big monitor — and supported devices get short vibration bursts on every hit (about 20 milliseconds for a normal whack, a longer multi-pulse pattern for a bomb). Phones, tablets and desktops all render the same full-screen grid with no layout adjustments needed.
Is my data safe?
The game runs entirely in your browser — spawning, timing and scoring never touch a server while you play. Only the score and nickname you actively choose to submit are sent to the shared world leaderboard, and nothing else about your session is collected.
What's different from a typical whack-a-mole game?
Beyond regular emojis, gold emojis pay out 5x the points of a normal hit, and consecutive combos are rewarded automatically with on-screen celebrations triggered at 5, 10, 20, 30 and 50-hit streaks. At the end of the round your final score is matched against five emoji rating tiers — from a modest 🌱 at 0 points up to a crowning 👑 at 70 or more — instead of just showing a bare number. Combined with the one-life bomb rule, it trades the classic 'just keep tapping' loop for a bit more risk-and-reward tension.
