Features

🎤

Your Voice Is the Joystick

Every shout, laugh or note you hit lifts the bird a little higher. There's no button to press — you're literally screaming your way through the level.

🥁

Instant Party Trick

Hand the mic to a friend and watch them flail. It's louder, funnier and more chaotic than any tap-to-flap game — perfect for a quick laugh with a crowd.

🕳️

Same Nail-Biting Pipe Dodging

The classic gap-threading challenge is still here — one wrong shout and you're pipe-kissing. Timing your voice is even trickier than timing a tap.

How to Use

1

Grant the mic (or skip it)

Tap “Start (Voice)” and allow microphone access — or pick Tap/Space mode if you'd rather play the classic way.

2

Shout to climb, hush to fall

Yell, hum or sing to push the bird upward; go silent and gravity pulls it back down. Ride your own volume like a wave.

3

Slip through every gap

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Flappy Voice Bird actually work?
It listens to your microphone and measures loudness in real time — the louder you shout, the more upward lift is applied to the bird, while silence lets gravity pull it back down. A sensitivity slider ranging from 0.4x to 2.5x (default 1x) lets you tune how strongly your voice translates into lift. Pipe gaps also start around 210px tall and gradually narrow toward a 140px minimum as your score climbs, so steering gets tighter the longer a run lasts.
Is it free to play?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up, downloads or paywalls blocking gameplay. It runs entirely in your browser on any device with a microphone or just a spacebar.
Do I need a microphone?
No. If you don't have a mic or you're somewhere noisy, switch to Tap/Space mode and play by tapping the screen or pressing spacebar instead. Tap mode actually uses a tighter, more classic layout — gaps as narrow as 140px and 230px of pipe spacing — while voice mode gives a more forgiving 200-250px gap and 320px of spacing to compensate for less precise voice control.
Is my audio recorded or uploaded?
No. Your microphone input is analyzed locally in your browser only to measure a volume level every frame. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent to any server — the app just reads a live loudness number, multiplies it by your sensitivity setting, and turns it into lift.
Why won't the microphone start?
Your browser may have blocked mic access — check the site permissions and reload, or simply switch to Tap/Space mode instead, which needs no microphone at all. iOS Safari specifically requires you to tap the start button first before it will even prompt for microphone permission. If your voice barely moves the bird, try raising the sensitivity slider toward its 2.5x maximum before assuming the mic isn't working.
How does the difficulty increase as I play?
Pipe scroll speed rises steadily with your score — by about 6 px/s per point in Tap mode and a gentler 4 px/s per point in voice mode — while the gap between pipes narrows toward its 140px (tap) or 200px (voice) floor. That combination means late-game runs demand faster, more precise bursts of volume or taps than the opening seconds did.
