Features

Trace the Path, Clear the Pair

Spot two matching emoji anywhere on the board and clear them the moment a line bending twice or less can join them — no line, no clear.

🔥

Combo Scoring Rewards Speed

Clear pairs back-to-back inside the combo window and your multiplier climbs — the faster your eyes move, the higher your score.

💡

Hint & Shuffle When You're Stuck

Can't find a matchable pair? Reveal one with Hint, or reshuffle the remaining tiles to break a deadlock and keep the clock running.

⏱️

It's a Race, Not Just a Puzzle

The real challenge is clearing the entire board as fast as you can — your finish time is what gets ranked, not just your score.

🏆

World Speed Leaderboard

Finish a board and your clear time competes on the global leaderboard — fastest clears rise to the top.

📱

Board Adapts to Your Screen

Portrait phones get a tall 12×7 grid, landscape screens get a wide 8×10 grid — a crisp HiDPI Canvas board either way, tap-to-play.

How to Use

1

Tap the first emoji

Click or tap any emoji tile to select it; the tile highlights.

2

Tap its matching twin

Tap a second tile with the same emoji. If a line bending twice or fewer times can connect them around the board, both vanish.

3

Chain clears for combo points

Clear pairs in quick succession to build a combo multiplier and rack up bonus score along the way.

4

Race to clear the whole board

Keep going until every tile is gone — use Hint or Shuffle if you get stuck — then submit your clear time to the speed leaderboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Emoji Link Match?
It's a classic tile-connecting puzzle (in the style of Shisen-Sho / Lianliankan) where you clear pairs of identical emoji by joining them with a path that bends no more than 2 times. Instead of racing a countdown, the goal here is clearing the entire board as fast as possible — each match earns a base 100 points, boosted by up to +50% per extra consecutive match landed within a 4-second combo window.
Is it free to play?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up or installation. It runs entirely in your web browser, rendering every emoji as a 3D-style glass crystal block, with all sound effects synthesized live via the Web Audio API instead of loaded from files.
How does the leaderboard work?
The leaderboard ranks how fast you cleared the entire board, not your point score — the shorter your finish time, the higher you rank. Because the board size changes with screen orientation, each entry also shows the dimensions cleared (8×10 or 12×7), so times are compared in context.
What if there are no moves left?
Each game gives you 5 Hint charges and 5 Shuffle charges — Hint highlights one valid matching pair, and Shuffle randomly rearranges every remaining tile. Even if you run out of shuffles, the game automatically detects when no matchable pair exists anywhere on the board and reshuffles for you after a short pause, so a run can never get permanently stuck.
Does the board size change?
Yes. The grid adapts to your screen orientation as soon as the game loads (or whenever you rotate before making your first move) — a taller 12×7 board (84 tiles) on phones held upright, or a wider 8×10 board (80 tiles) in landscape or on desktop. Once you've made a move, the board size locks in for the rest of that run even if you rotate the screen again.
Is my data private?
Yes. The game runs fully client-side with no accounts or tracking. The only information ever sent to a server is your finish time, board size, and the nickname you choose, and only if you explicitly opt to submit to the world leaderboard.
